Subsurface Games is a one man game development company run by me. My name is David Tse and I do all the programming, design, business stuff, marketing, animation, web development, and art(bad programmer art). Right now I'm working on Survive, a zombie survival fps set in a procedural open world. The game is using a completly custom engine written from scratch by me called the Titan Engine.
I started working on Survive in my last year of high school using Java, and shortly after graduating in 2012 I started Subsurface Games. While I had a decent start in java after graduation I decided to pretty much start over and do the engine and the game in C++. So the very first line of code in the engine was written in early July of 2012. A few months later I started college only to drop out after one semester to work full time on Survive. So you could say the game and the engine have been in full time development for a little less than 2 years after subtracting the time in college where I couldn’t devote all my time to the game.
Then in July of 2013, a full year after the start of development, I put Survive up on Steam Greenlight. I did it rather early in development because I assumed it would take many months, but much to my surprise in only one month it was successfully greenlit! Now a little more than a year after getting greenlit I'm launching the Kickstarter for Survive.
Pre-Alpha 3 video, about 4 months outdated. There will be a video showing Pre-Alpha 4 a few days into the Kickstarter. YouTube
There are far more images available for Subsurface Games, but these are the ones we felt would be most useful to you. If you have specific requests, please do contact us!
